　お筆先第五号（ Part V）／明治七年五月（May in the 7th year of Meiji ）／七十
七才老女（An old woman of 77 years ）

５．１	今までは　牛馬と云うて　まヽあれど　　後先知れた　ことはあるまい
	神口説き
	Until now, there has been much talk of rebirth as oxen or horses, 　but there has been no one who knows his past or future.
５．２	このたびは　先なることを　この世から　　知らしておくで　身に障りみよ
	神口説き
	This time, I shall make your future known 　in this life: 　 look at the disorder of the body!
５．３	この世うは　いかほど拝み　思うても　　神の立腹　これはかなわん
	神言
	In this world, however much you may be concerned about yourself, 　you are helpless against the anger of God.
５．４	銘々に　我が身思案は　要らんもの　　神がそれぞれ　見分けするぞや
	神言
	None of you needs self-centered concern. 　God will distinguish between each of you.
５．５	一屋敷　同じ暮らし　しているうちに　　神も仏も　あると思えよ
	神言
	Among those living in the same residence, 　know that there are both god and Buddha.
５．６	これみて　いかなものでも　得心せ　　善と悪とを　分けてみせるで
	神口説き
	If you see this, be convinced, whoever you may be: 　I shall distinguish between good and evil.
５．７	この話し　一列は　思案せよ　　同じ心は　更にあるまい
	神口説き
	Ponder over this talk, all of you in the world. 　There is no mind the same as another.
５．８	親子でも　夫婦の仲も　兄弟も　　皆な銘々に　心違うで
	神言
	Even between parent and child, husband and wife, 　and brothers and sisters: their minds all differ from one another.
５．９	世界中　どこのものとは　云わんでな　　心の埃り　身に障りつく
	埃／病諭し
	Indicating no one in the world in particular, 　 I say to you: dust in the mind causes disorders of the body.
５．１０	身の内の　悩むことをば　思案して　神にもたれる心　思案せよ
	埃／病諭し
	Ponder over your sufferings of the body 　 and then ponder the mind that leans　on God.
５．１１	どのような　難しことと　云うたとて　　神の自由よう　早く見せたい
	埃／病諭し
	It does not matter how difficult your condition may be, 　for God desires to reveal free and unlimited workings quickly.
５．１２	今までは　神の自由よう　真実を　　知りたる者　更にないので
	埃／病諭し
	Until now, there has been no one who knows 　the truth of God’s free and unlimited workings.
５．１３	これからは　いかな難し　病いでも　　心次第に　なおらんでなし
	埃／病諭し
	From now on, no matter how serious your illness may be, nothing is incurable. 　 It depends on your mind.
５．１４	真実の　心を神が　受け取れば　　如何な自由よう　してみせるでな
	埃／病諭し
	If God accepts your mind of sincerity, 　 I shall　work freely and unlimitedly in any matter.
５．１５	こらほどの　神の真実　この話し　　傍なる者は　早く悟れよ
	埃／病諭し
	You close to Me, quickly become enlightened 　in this teaching of the truth of God.
５．１６	これさえが　早く悟りが　ついたなら　　何についても　皆なこの通り
	埃／病諭し
	If you quickly become enlightened in this one　matter, 　everything will proceed accordingly.
５．１７	今日までは　何よのことも　せかねども　　もう急き込むで　往還の道
	道諭し
	Until today, I have never hastened you in any way, 　Now, I hasten you toward the broad path.
５．１８	この道は　世界並みとは　思うなよ　　これ末代の　古記始まり
	道諭し
	Never think this path is worldly common. 　it is　the beginning of the Divine Record for eternity.
５．１９	この人衆　どこにあるとは　云わんでな　　身の内障り　皆な来るであろう
	道諭し
	I do not say where the performers will be found. 　All will come because of disorders of the body.
５．２０	この障り　手引き意見も　立腹も　　皆な銘々に　思案してみよ
	埃／病諭し
	These disorders are from My guidance, admonition, or anger. 　Ponder, each of you.
５．２１	この話し　何と思うて　聞いている　　可愛い余りて　口説くことなり
	神口説き
	What are your thoughts on hearing this talk? 　I appeal to you repeatedly out of My deep love for you.
５．２２	どのように　意見立腹　云うたとて　　これ助けんと　更に云わんで
	神口説き
	However I may express My admonition or anger, 　I shall never say that you will not be saved.
５．２３	人間の　我が子の意見　思うてみよ　　腹の立つのも　可愛い故から
	神口説き
	Think of you humans admonishing your children. 　The anger, too, comes from love.
５．２４	思案して　心定めて　ついてこい　　末は頼もし　道があるぞや
	心定め
	Ponder and come follow Me with firm resolve. 　There is a path of hope in the future.
５．２５	今までは　心違いは　ありたとて　　日が来足らんで　見許していた
	神口説き
	Until now, because the day had not yet come, 　I have overlooked your mistaken minds.
５．２６	このたびは　何でもかでも　胸の内　　掃除するで　皆な承知せよ
	胸掃除
	This time, by all means, I shall sweep clean 　your innermost heart. Be forewarned!
５．２７	胸の掃除を　すると云うのもな　　神の思惑　深くあるから
	胸掃除
	The reason for this sweeping of your innermost　heart 　 is that the intent of God is deep.
５．２８	この掃除　すきやかにしたて　せんことに　　胸の真実　分かりないから
	胸掃除
	Unless the sweeping is thoroughly accomplished, 　you will not understand the truth of My heart.
５．２９	この心　芯から分かり　分かりついたなら　　この世始まり　手をつけるなり
	元の理
	When you have truly come to understand My mind, 　I shall teach you the hand movements of the beginning of this world.
５．３０	近道も　欲も高慢　ないように　　ただ一筋の　本道に出よ
	道諭し
	Take no short cuts. Have no greed or arrogance. Come out to the single and straight main path.
５．３１	この道に　ついたるならば　いつまでも　　これ日本の　古記なるのや
	道諭し
	When you have come onto this path, this will be　the Divine 　Record forever in Nihon.
５．３２	日本にも　古記が出けた　ことならば　　何でも唐を　ままにするなり
	回天論
	When the Divine Record is made in Nihon, 　I shall by all means manage Kara as I please.
５．３３	この世うを　始めてからの　真実を　　まだ今までは　云うたことなし
	神口説き
	I have not spoken yet about the truth of those　things 　that came after I began this world.
５．３４	この話し　難しことで　あるけれど　　云わずにいれば　誰も知らんで
	神口説き
	This talk will be difficult to understand, 　but if it is left untold, no one will know.
５．３５	段々と　どのようなことも　云うて聞かす　　心しづめて　しかと聞くなり
	神口説き
	Step by step, I shall tell you of any and all matters. 　Calm your mind and listen closely!
５．３６	今までは　いかなる法と　云うたとて　　もうこれからは　法は効（き）かんで
	神口説き
	Until now, there has been talk about various magical rites. 　From now on, they shall have no effect.
５．３７	これまでは　枝先にては　法などと　　教えてあれど　先をみていよ
	神口説き
	In the past, such magical rites have been taught 　to the branches, 　but watch the future.
５．３８	日本には　今まで何も　知らいでも　　これから先の　道を楽しめ
	道諭し
	Nihon has known nothing until now, 　but look forward to the future path.
５．３９	法やとて　誰がするとは　思うなよ　　この世始めた　神の為すこと
	神口説き
	About magical rites: do not wonder who is making them effective. 　They are worked by God, who began this world.
５．４０	どのような　難しことと　云うたとて　　神が真実　受け取りたなら
	神口説き
	However difficult matters may be, 　if only your sincerity is accepted by God…
５．４１	今までは　唐や日本と　云うたれど　　これから先は　日本ばかりや
	回天論
	Until now, there has been talk about Kara and Nihon, 　but from now on there will only be Nihon.
５．４２	枝先は　大きに見えて　あかんもの　　構えば折れる　先を見ていよ
	神口説き
	The branches may look big, but they are weak 　and break when handled. Watch the future.
５．４３	元なるは　小さいようで　根が偉い　　どのようなことも　元を知るなり
	神口説き
	The origin may seem small, but the root is great. 　In all things, know the origin!
５．４４	実やとて　法が偉いと　思うなよ　　心のまこと　これが真実
	神口説き
	Do not think that incantations or magical arts　are great. 　The mind’s sincerity is the true art.
５．４５	人間は　あざないもので　あるからに　　珍しことを　法なぞと云う
	神口説き
	As you humans are shallow, 　you say that all marvels are magic.
５．４６	今までは　神が表われ　出たるとて　　まだ真実を　知りたる者なし
	神口説き
	Even until now, though God is openly revealed, 　there is yet no one who knows the truth.
５．４７	この先は　どのよな事も　真実を　　教えておいた　ことであるなら
	神口説き
	Hereafter, when I have taught you 　the truth fo all things,
５．４８	それからは　神の働き　何もかも　　自由よう自在を　してみせるでな
	神口説き
	Then, I shall show you God’s free and 　unlimited workings in all matters.
５．４９	真実の　神の働き　仕掛けたら　　世界一列　心澄みきる
	神言
	When God in Truth begins to work, 　the minds of all in the world will be purified.
５．５０	働きも　いかなることと　思うかな　　心受け取り　次第返しを
	神口説き
	What are your thoughts concerning My workings? 　I shall give returns when I accept your minds. 50
５．５１	この返し　何のことやと　思うかな　　道のり千里　隔てありても
	道諭し
	What do you think these returns are about? 　They will reach you though you be a thousand leagues away.
５．５２	このことは　何を云うても　思うても　　受け取り次第　すぐに返しを
	神口説き
	Whatever you may say or think, I shall give returns 　as soon as I accept your minds.
５．５３	この返し　何のことと　思うなよ　　善悪共に　返すでな
	神口説き
	Do not wonder what these returns are about. 　I shall give returns for both good and evil.
５．５４	良きことを　云うても悪しきを　思うても　　そのまますぐに　返すことなり
	神口説き
	Whether you speak good or think evil, 　I shall give returns at once as you deserve.
５．５５	このことを　見えて来たならば　一列は　　どんなものでも　皆な澄み渡る
	神口説き
	If you begin to see this, My purification will reach 　any and everyone in the whole world.
５．５６	今日の日　何が見えるや　ないけれど　　八月を見よ　皆な見えるでな
	予言
	Today, though nothing is seen, look forward the　eighth month. 　Then everything will be seen.
５．５７	見えるのも　何のことやら　知れまいな　　高い山から　往還の道
	道諭し
	Perhaps you cannot foresee what is going to appear. 　From the high mountains, a broad path will open.
５．５８	この道を　つけようとてに　しこしらえ　　傍なる者は　何も知らずに
	道諭し
	I have been preparing to open this path, 　but those of you close　to Me know nothing of it.
５．５９	このとこへ　呼びに来るのも　出て来るも　　神の思惑　あるからのこと
	道諭し
	Those who come here to summon or to 　investigate, 　come because it is God’s intent.
５．６０	そのことを　何も知らずに　傍なるは　　世界並みなる　ことを思うて
	道諭し
	Knowing nothing about this, you close to Me 　think of it only in worldly terms.
５．６１	何にても　世界並みとは　思うなよ　　何か珍し　道があるぞや
	道諭し
	Do not think of anything in worldly terms. 　There is a new and marvelous path for you.
５．６２	段々と　この世始めて　日はたてど　　誰か真実　知りたる者なし
	道諭し
	Though years have passed since the beginning of this world, 　there is yet no one who knows the　truth.
５．６３	いかほどに　神の心は　せえたとて　　皆なの心は　またうっかりと
	道諭し
	No matter how the mind of God hastens, 　the minds of all of you are yet inattentive.
５．６４	早々と　思案してみて　急き込めよ　　根え掘る模様　なんでしてでん
	道諭し
	Quickly, try the pondering and then hasten. 　Why are you not preparing to dig up the root?
５．６５	この世うの　真実根えの　掘り方を　　知りたる者は　更にないので
	道諭し
	There is no one who knows the way to dig up the root, 　 the truth of this world.
５．６６	この根えを　真実堀りた　ことならば　　まこと頼もし　道になるのに
	道諭し
	If you have but truly dug up this root, 　this path will become truly promising.
５．６７	この道を　掘りきり通り　抜けたなら　　上下共に　心勇むで
	道諭し
	When you have passed through this path, 　completing the digging, both the high and the low will be spirited.
５．６８	これからは　何でも世界　一列を　　勇める模様　ばかりするぞや
	神言
	From now on, I shall make every effort solely for the preparations 　to make everyone in the world spirited.
５．６９	段々と　何事にても　日本には　　知らんことをば　ないと云うよに
	神口説き
	I shall teach you step by step so 　that therewill be nothing unknown in Nihon.
５．７０	何もかも　世界中へ　教えたい　　神の思惑　深くあるのに
	神口説き
	I desire to teach the whole world about all matters. 　The intention of God is truly deep.
５．７１	それ知らず　世界中は　一列に　　なんど危なき　ように思うて
	回天論
	Unaware of this, all the world thinks 　My teachings　are somehow dangerous.
５．７２	どのような　ことでも神の　云うことや　　何の危なき　ことがあるぞや
	神口説き
	Whatever I say, it is the word of God. 　What danger can there be?
５．７３	なにもかも　よろづのことを　段々と　　云うていながら　分かりたるなし
	神口説き
	Though people speak about any and all matters, 　there is no understanding.
５．７４	これからは　どうぞ真実　胸の内　　早く澄ませる　模様してくれ
	胸掃除
	From now on, please quickly make preparations 　truly 　to purify your innermost heart.
５．７５	世界中　多くの人で　あるからに　　これ澄まするが　難しいこと
	胸掃除
	As there are a great number of people in the world, 　to purify all of them will be difficult.
５．７６	いかほどに　難しことと　云うたとて　　我が心より　真実をみよ
	胸掃除
	However difficult it may be, 　see the truth through your own mind!
５．７７	この心　澄むし分かりた　ことならば　　そのまま見える　ことであるなり
	胸掃除
	When the mind is made pure and open to reason, 　the truth will be seen of its own accord.
５．７８	日々に　神の真実　働きを　　知りたる者は　更にあるまい
	神口説き
	There may be no one at all who knows　　the true working of God day after day.
５．７９	何にても　神の自由ようと　云うものは　　珍しことを　してみせるでな
	神口説き
	In whatever matters, I shall show you marvels 　through the free and unlimited workings of God.
５．８０	どのような　珍しことと　云うたとて　　神のすること　為すことばかり
	神口説き
	Whatever marvels you may see, 　they are　none other than the workings of God.
５．８１	今までは　なによのことも　知れなんだ　　一寸見えかけた　細い道筋
	道諭し
	Until now, you have known nothing, 　but now a　narrow path　is coming into your sight.
５．８２	この道を　段々慕い　行くならば　何でも向こうに　見える本道
	道諭し
	If you follow this path step by step, 　you will surely see the main path ahead.
５．８３	これまでに　通りて来たる　道筋は　唐も日本も分かりないので
	道諭し
	Until now, you have come through a path where 　there was no distinction between Kara and Nihon.
５．８４	この先は　なんぼ唐やと　云うたとて　日本が負ける　試しないぞや
	回天論
	Hereafter, however highly Kara is regarded, 　in no case will Nihon be overcome.
５．８５	この世うの　元始まりの　根を掘らそ　力あるなら　掘りきりてみよ
	元の理
	I shall let you dig up the root for this world’s origin. 　If you have the strength, do your best to dig it up.
５．８６	この根えを　掘りきりさいか　したるなら　どのような者も　かなうものなし
	神口説き
	If only you have dug up this root completely, 　no one will be your match, whoever one may be.
５．８７	しかと聞け　口で云うても　思うても　どこで云うても　思うたるとて
	神口説き
	Listen carefully: whatever you may say　or think, 　or wherever you may say or think,
５．８８	そのままに　返しと云うは　このことや　神が退く　皆な承知せよ
	神口説き
	I shall give a return just as you deserve. 　Beware, all of you, for God may withdraw!
